The Ergon GP3 is part of the GP Grip Series, the original ergonomic "winged grip" design that revolutionized comfort for cyclists using flat-style handlebars. The GP3 features a 3-finger bar end that is easily adjustable to fit your riding position on the bike and is available in two sizes to accommodate a wide range of cyclists.
The WINGED SHAPE of the GP3 reduces overall pressure on the hands and the ulnar nerve area while supporting the wrist in a comfortable, ergonomically ideal position. This grip design eliminates hand pain, numb fingers, sore wrists and forearms.
The 3-FINGER BAR END / CLAMP allows the bar end and grip angle to be adjusted independently for a custom fit. This can be easily readjusted as needed, and the bar end / clamp eliminates twisting once tightened. The GP3 is CARBON BAR COMPATIBLE and fits standard MTB bar diameter at the grip mounting area.
The GP3 is optimized for different SHIFTER TYPES: - Standard Trigger Shifters: Right and Left grips are long. - Gripshift / Dual Twist Shifters: Right and Left grips are shortened. - Rohloff / Nexus / XX1 / Single Twist Shifters: Right grip is shortened and Left is long.
The Ergon grips address two common problems for cyclists: Soft Tissue Pain and Nerve Pain. Excessive pressure on the sensitive areas of the hands can result in numb fingers, but the anatomically optimized design of Ergon grips offer 100% contact with the hand surface area, versus traditional round grips which offer only 60% contact, providing SOFT TISSUE COMFORT.
Excessive curvature of the wrist can lead to undesired kinks in the carpal tunnel nerve, resulting in a burning pain in the hand or forearm. By CORRECTING THE HAND POSITION, the carpal tunnel nerve is relieved, and pain is eliminated.
Ergon's approach to design is rooted in ERGONOMICS, with the goal of rider and bike working together as one. The design of their saddles and grips is built to match the form of the body, leading to better distribution of opposing forces and eliminating unpleasant pressure points and related discomforts.
Ergon designers are also passionate cyclists, exhaustively developing and testing new concepts and ideas where they will be used – in the heat of competition, on the road, in the forest, and on the bike paths throughout the city. 100% of Ergon's ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT capacity is under one roof in Koblenz, Germany, with every process highly integrated and tightly controlled.
Professional riders play a major role in the development of Ergon products. COMPETITION PUSHES EXPECTATIONS to higher levels, while subtle feedback from riders who spend their lives in the saddle leads to better product designs for everyday cyclists.
