The Ergon GA2 all-mountain grip is far from standard, despite its round profile. Developed for all-mountain and gravity riders, as well as those who prefer a rounder grip, the GA2's ergonomic shape closely matches the contours of the hand to provide better pressure distribution. This helps reduce or eliminate arm pump, hand pain, and cramping when riding rough terrain and extended downhills. The design was developed in-house by passionate designers, ergonomic scientists, and engineers in Koblenz, Germany, just like you.
The GA2 grip features an ergonomic shape that matches the contours of the hand, leading to better pressure distribution and reduced or eliminated arm pump, hand pain, and cramping during rough terrain and extended downhills. The inner-core structure is tapered to increase damping and comfort towards the outer grip area, relieving the ulnar nerve area. The inboard aluminum clamp allows the grip angle to be adjusted for a custom fit, and can be easily readjusted as needed, with the clamp eliminating twisting once tightened. The low-profile design stays out of the way to provide more gripping surface area.
The bar end plugs are replaceable in case of rough landings, and the grips are designed for use with carbon bars. They fit the standard 22.2mm MTB bar diameter at the grip mounting area. The right and left grips are different lengths, with the right grip shortened and the left grip long, to accommodate various shifter types, including standard trigger shifters, Rohloff, Nexus, XX1, and single twist shifters.
Ergon's design philosophy is to create a seamless integration between rider and bike, with the company's saddles and grips designed to match the form of the body and lead to better distribution of opposing forces. This eliminates unpleasant pressure points and related discomforts. Ergon's designers are passionate cyclists who exhaustively develop and test new concepts and ideas in real-world conditions, from competition to everyday riding. The company's engineering and development capacity is located entirely in Koblenz, Germany, with every process highly integrated and tightly controlled, from computer simulations to rapid 3D prototyping to the final product form.
Professional riders play a major role in the development of Ergon's products, with competition pushing expectations to higher levels and subtle feedback from riders who spend their lives in the saddle leading to better product designs for everyday cyclists. In addition to the GA2 grips, Ergon offers a range of other mountain bike products, including the GA3 all-mountain grip, GE1 Evo enduro grip, GD1 downhill grip, GP1 comfort grip, SM Comp men's MTB saddle, and SM Sport Gel women's MTB saddle.
